Does a tripping breaker mean the breaker is bad?
Not automatically. Overload, short circuit, ground fault, equipment failure and wiring problems can all cause trips.
Can I install a larger breaker?
Not unless the complete circuit and connected load support it. Increasing breaker size without matching conductor and equipment ratings can create a fire hazard.
