Annual payment provides the lowest total price. Monthly billing consists of 12 automatic payments under an annual agreement, not a month-to-month membership. Before Landmark performs the included annual service or applies a monetary plan benefit, any unpaid balance for the current term must be paid in full. The current written plan agreement controls enrollment and benefits.
Included with every home plan
Annual Electrical Safety & System Check
Once during each active 12-month term, Landmark performs a preventive visual and functional check of the home's readily and safely accessible electrical system. The purpose is to identify visible safety concerns, developing problems and recommended maintenance before they become more serious.
Service entrance and electrical panels
- Visually inspect the accessible meter enclosure, service-entrance cable, mast or riser, weatherhead, exterior disconnect and related service equipment.
- Open and inspect the main electrical panel when safe and accessible; review visible overheating, arcing, corrosion, moisture, damage, improper breaker use and open knockouts.
- Confirm accessible covers, dead fronts and enclosures are secured; review the circuit directory for missing, unclear or visibly inaccurate labels.
- Check the status indicator of an installed whole-home surge protector.
Grounding, bonding and protection
- Visually review readily accessible grounding and bonding conductors, water-pipe bonding and grounding-electrode connections.
- Functionally test readily accessible GFCI receptacles and breakers in protected areas.
- Test accessible AFCI and dual-function breakers using the manufacturer-provided test button.
- Document devices that fail to trip, reset or operate properly.
Devices, visible wiring and exterior equipment
- Test a representative sample of readily accessible receptacles for polarity, grounding and basic operating condition.
- Visually inspect accessible receptacles, switches, dimmers, covers and boxes for damage, looseness, overheating or discoloration.
- Review visible wiring in accessible unfinished basements, garages and utility areas.
- Inspect accessible exterior receptacles, weather-resistant covers and weatherproof enclosures.
Smoke and carbon-monoxide alarms
- Test all readily accessible smoke, carbon-monoxide and combination alarms using each unit's test function.
- When permitted by the manufacturer, remove the alarm from its mounting base and clean the exterior openings and internal sensing-chamber area with clean, dry compressed air.
- Reinstall and retest removed alarms after cleaning.
- Document units that appear expired, damaged, contaminated, improperly located, nonresponsive or recommended for replacement.
Completed condition report
The customer receives a digital report, which may include photographs, classifying observed findings as an immediate safety concern, repair recommended, monitor or plan for future service, or no visible concern observed. Recommended corrective work is optional and separately priced for approval.
Annual-check scope and limitations
The check covers one occupied residential dwelling and only equipment and areas that are readily and safely accessible. It does not include moving furniture or appliances, opening finished surfaces, destructive access, entering unsafe attics or crawl spaces, or inspecting concealed defects.
It is not a municipal code inspection, real-estate inspection, insurance certification or guarantee that concealed defects do not exist. Diagnostic troubleshooting, repairs, replacement components, batteries, labor, materials, permits and code corrections are not included. Pools, spas, solar equipment, low-voltage systems, detached structures and generators are excluded unless separately covered.
Alarm cleaning does not repair or certify an alarm or extend its manufacturer-rated service life. Replacement alarms, batteries, wiring repairs and relocation require separate authorization and pricing.
Optional backup-power care
Add generator maintenance to any home electrical plan
Home electrical members may add one annual Generator Essential Maintenance Service at the discounted member rate of $249 per year—a $40 savings from the $289 one-time price. Published pricing applies to one Generac or Honeywell residential air-cooled standby generator up to 26 kW.
The add-on includes the core oil, oil-filter, air-filter and spark-plug service described on the generator page. It does not include the Standard Generator Plan's comprehensive inspection, battery and charger testing, automatic load-transfer test, digital report, priority, dispatch benefits or repair discounts.
Approved service policy
Dispatch, emergency, payment and membership terms
These terms explain how the comparison is applied. The enrollment agreement accepted by the customer is the controlling plan document.
Normal hours and emergency fees
- Normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Eastern, excluding Landmark-observed major holidays.
- A qualifying same-day emergency request must be received and accepted by Landmark no later than 2:00 PM on a normal business day.
- The service fee is based on when the visit is performed. If a request accepted by 2:00 PM is serviced after 5:00 PM, the applicable after-hours fee applies.
- The $99 normal-hours emergency fee or applicable after-hours emergency fee replaces the standard $79 dispatch/evaluation fee; it is not added to it.
- Same-day and priority service improve scheduling position but never guarantee an arrival time. Availability remains subject to active life-safety calls, technician availability, weather, road conditions, service area, property access and safe working conditions.
What qualifies as an electrical emergency
A qualifying emergency is a reported condition that reasonably suggests an immediate or developing electrical safety hazard or an urgent loss of essential electrical function, such as:
- Active sparking, arcing, smoke, burning odor or abnormal heat from electrical equipment
- Electrical shock or voltage detected on a normally non-energized surface
- Partial power, severe voltage fluctuation or repeated breaker operation that cannot safely be reset
- Storm, tree, impact or water damage affecting the service, panel, meter, mast, wiring or other electrical equipment
- Exposed or damaged energized components or an urgent electrical failure affecting essential household equipment
Planned installations, upgrades, routine maintenance, cosmetic concerns, nonhazardous inconvenience and utility-side outages are not automatically electrical emergencies. Landmark determines plan eligibility from the reported facts and field conditions. For active fire, heavy smoke or immediate danger, leave the area and call 911 and the utility as appropriate.
Annual and monthly payment choices
- Annual payment is due at enrollment and provides the lowest total plan price.
- Monthly pricing consists of 12 consecutive automatic payments for one 12-month agreement. It is not a month-to-month or cancel-anytime membership.
- Before Landmark performs the included annual service or applies a member discount, waived or reduced fee, emergency-priority service or another monetary plan benefit, any unpaid balance for the current term must be paid in full.
- A failed payment suspends plan benefits until the account is current and does not erase the current 12-month payment obligation.
Renewal, cancellation and refunds
- Plans automatically renew for successive 12-month terms using the selected annual or monthly payment method unless renewal is canceled before the next term begins.
- Landmark will disclose the next-term price, payment schedule, renewal terms and available cancellation methods before renewal. Price changes apply to the next term, not retroactively.
- Enrollment in automatic billing requires the customer's affirmative authorization. Renewal may be canceled by calling 586-405-0227, emailing help@call-landmark.com, or using another written or online cancellation method provided at enrollment.
- Canceling automatic renewal prevents the next term; it does not cancel the current 12-month agreement or remaining current-term payment obligation.
- Annual payments are nonrefundable after the annual check, a waived or reduced fee, a member discount, priority emergency service or another monetary benefit has been used, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
- Any nonwaivable statutory cancellation right or refund requirement controls over the plan language.
What plan fees do not include
A waived or discounted dispatch or emergency service fee does not waive diagnostic work, repair labor, replacement components, batteries, materials, equipment, permits, code corrections, specialty access, return visits or other separately priced work. No replacement allowance, included repair part or minor-material allowance is part of these home plans. Eligible Plus or Premium discounts apply only to work identified as discountable in the written plan and approved service option.
Eligibility and use
Benefits apply only while the plan is active and paid as required, to the enrolled property, for a request made by an authorized customer, within Landmark's service area and under safe-access conditions. Plans cover one occupied residential dwelling and are not transferable to another person or property unless Landmark agrees in writing. Plan benefits cannot be combined with other offers unless expressly authorized.
A defined annual electrical-system check
Every home plan includes one Annual Electrical Safety & System Check during each active 12-month term. Landmark reviews readily and safely accessible service equipment, panels, grounding and bonding, GFCI and AFCI protection, representative receptacles, visible wiring, exterior devices and smoke and carbon-monoxide alarms. Accessible alarms are tested and, when permitted by the manufacturer, cleaned with clean, dry compressed air. The customer receives a digital condition report with documented findings and recommendations. The check is not a code, real-estate or insurance certification and does not include concealed conditions or repairs.
Membership benefits by tier
Standard is $199 per year or $19.99 per month for 12 months, with no repair discount and no priority scheduling. Plus is $329 per year or $32.99 per month for 12 months and adds a 5% eligible-work discount, enhanced priority, a normal-business-hours dispatch waiver and a $79 qualifying same-day emergency rate. Premium is $499 per year or $49.99 per month for 12 months and adds a 10% eligible-work discount, front-of-line priority, waived qualifying same-day emergency service and a $129 after-hours emergency rate through 10:00 PM. Monthly totals are higher than annual payment. Before Landmark performs the included annual service or applies a monetary plan benefit, any unpaid balance for the current term must be paid in full.
Generator service is available at a discounted add-on rate
Oil, filters, spark plugs, batteries, generator simulation and transfer-equipment maintenance remain generator-specific services. Home electrical members may add one annual Generator Essential Maintenance Service at the discounted member rate of $249 per year under its own written scope without merging the electrical and generator agreements. The $249 add-on is the core oil, filter and spark-plug service; it is not the Standard Generator Plan.
Frequently asked questions
Does the electrical plan inspect concealed wiring?
No. The visit is limited to the visible, accessible and written scope unless additional diagnostic work is authorized.
Are repairs or replacement parts included?
No. Diagnostic troubleshooting, repairs, replacement components, batteries, labor, materials, permits and code corrections require separate customer authorization and pricing. Any eligible tier discount is applied under the written plan terms.
Is generator maintenance included?
It is not included automatically. Home electrical members may add one annual Generator Essential Maintenance Service at the discounted rate of $249 per year under a separate generator maintenance agreement.
