Two common ways DTE supports lighting upgrades
Prescriptive rebates apply after a qualifying project is documented and submitted under DTE's program rules. The incentive may be based on the measure, fixture or kilowatts reduced rather than a single flat amount.
DTE also offers instant discounts on qualifying products purchased through participating distributors. Instant-discount and prescriptive-rebate rules are different, so the purchase path should be selected before materials are ordered.
Lighting work commonly covered by the program
The current catalog and instant-discount program include many measures that align with Landmark's commercial lighting work. Product listing, existing equipment and operating conditions still control eligibility.
- Interior LED fixture and lamp retrofits
- Flat panels, troffers and linear LED lighting
- High-bay and low-bay lighting
- Eligible building-mounted exterior and garage LED retrofits
- Exit signs and illuminated-sign conversions
- Occupancy, daylight, timer and bi-level controls
- Qualifying networked lighting-control systems
What must be confirmed before installation
Many measures require DLC-listed or ENERGY STAR-certified products. Existing wattage, fixture quantity, weekly operating hours, proposed wattage reduction and control strategy can affect the measure used. Certain projects require a reservation, and final applications may require manufacturer specification sheets and invoices.
Replacing failed equipment, changing fixture quantities or combining control incentives can change eligibility. A pre-installation inventory is the safest starting point.
Landmark's role in the project
Landmark can assess the existing lighting, identify the electrical installation scope, install approved fixtures and controls, and provide normal project documentation. DTE makes the final rebate determination. Any rebate-administration service included by Landmark must be stated in the written project scope.
Program terms control eligibility
Rebates, discounts and credits are not guaranteed. Eligibility, funding, qualifying equipment, application timing and payment are determined by the program administrator. Verify the current official requirements before purchasing equipment or beginning work.

Does every LED fixture qualify for a DTE rebate?
No. Eligibility depends on the specific measure, existing equipment, product certification, operating hours, wattage reduction and program rules.
Can we install first and apply afterward?
Not safely for every measure. Some 2026 lighting measures require a reservation before installation. Verify the measure and application path before ordering or installing equipment.
Is the instant discount the same as a rebate?
No. An instant discount is applied through a participating distributor, while a prescriptive rebate follows the program's application and approval process. The same product or project may not qualify for both.
Can Landmark guarantee the rebate amount?
No. Landmark can prepare and install the electrical scope, but DTE controls program eligibility, calculations, funding and payment.
